LET IT BLEED. CINDER: A TALE OF BROKEN ADOPTION is my debut novel. Cinder is adopted by a family who had been unable to get pregnant for 17 long years. This is after having two children when they were teenagers.

Cinder was meant to be an only child. 2.5 years after Cinder's adoption, his mother suddenly, miraculously becomes pregnant again. Cinder's life changes forever as the new baby grows into a lovable toddler.

Unfortunately, the cold-hearted, self-absorbed family members find that two young toddlers are one too many. They only have time, love, and attention for their biologically connected daughter and sister. Cinder was too young to realize what was happening as he was slowly shunted to the side, and soon he found himself alone, ignored and confused.

Cinder and his mother are both PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY abused and neglected by his cruel, reckless father as he returns to his old ways of infidelity and alcoholism.

The novel then becomes about Cinders' perseverance and persistence as he refuses to let life's numerous setbacks destroy him. He becomes his mom's lifeline to sanity as he helps her deal with feelings of abandonment, and he makes a couple of good friends.

As the novel ends, Cinders' life is on the upswing due to his perseverance and refusal to give up.

There are elements of satire and irony to be found throughout the book. This book will be the first book in a series of books about the adventures and misadventures of CINDER.
