This publication presents relevant operational experience and lessons learned at nuclear installations, including nuclear power plants and research reactors. Operational experience includes scenarios in which a nuclear installation was impacted or forecast to be impacted by a natural external event which could be more severe or frequent due to climate change. Information was collected from national event reports provided by Member States and international sources such as the International Reporting System for Operating Experience (IRS). This document shares operating experience and disseminates lessons learned and best practices to support safe and reliable operation and to capture a diverse range of recent experiences of Member States with challenging meteorological and hydrological events.
