Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is one of the most remarkable aromatic herbs known to humankind. Belonging to the family Poaceae (grass family), the genus Cymbopogon comprises approximately 500 species and more than 8,000 herbaceous species distributed throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world.
