The Leibniz Discourse on Metaphysics Correspondence with Arnauld and Monadology is a book written by George R. Montgomery. It is a comprehensive collection of texts by the German philosopher, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. The book includes three major works by Leibniz: the Discourse on Metaphysics, Correspondence with Antoine Arnauld, and Monadology. The Discourse on Metaphysics is a philosophical treatise in which Leibniz discusses the nature of reality and the existence of God. He argues that the world is made up of indivisible units called monads, which are spiritual substances that are not subject to change or decay. Leibniz also explores the concept of causation and argues that all events are interconnected in a pre-established harmony. The Correspondence with Antoine Arnauld is a series of letters exchanged between Leibniz and the French theologian, Antoine Arnauld. In these letters, Leibniz defends his philosophy against Arnauld's objections and discusses various topics such as free will, the nature of substance, and the problem of evil. The Monadology is a short work in which Leibniz provides a concise summary of his metaphysical system. He outlines the nature of monads, their relations to each other, and their place in the world. Leibniz also discusses the concept of perception and argues that all monads have a degree of consciousness.Overall, The Leibniz Discourse on Metaphysics Correspondence with Arnauld and Monadology provides a comprehensive overview of Leibniz's philosophical system and is an essential read for anyone interested in the history of philosophy. This Is A New Release Of The Original 1902 Edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
