The Legenda and Readings of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry is a comprehensive book written by Albert Pike, a prominent figure in the Freemasonry community. The book explores the history, rituals, and teachings of the Scottish Rite, a branch of Freemasonry that is known for its esoteric and philosophical nature. The book is divided into several sections, each of which delves into a different aspect of the Scottish Rite. The first section provides an overview of the history and development of the Scottish Rite, tracing its roots back to the early days of Freemasonry. The subsequent sections explore the various degrees of the Scottish Rite, including the symbolic, philosophical, and mystical degrees. Throughout the book, Pike provides detailed explanations of the rituals, symbols, and teachings of the Scottish Rite, drawing on his extensive knowledge and experience within the Freemasonry community. He also includes a number of readings and legends that are central to the Scottish Rite, providing readers with a deeper understanding of the organization's beliefs and practices. Overall, The Legenda and Readings of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry is an essential resource for anyone interested in the history and teachings of the Scottish Rite. It provides a detailed and insightful look into one of the most complex and intriguing branches of Freemasonry, and is sure to be of interest to both members and non-members alike. There are other things that you should hear said now, and without which you will not be fully in possession of this degree... You will find them in the Legenda... (quote from the 26th degree, AASR, SMJ). This book contains ALL of the Legenda and Readings written for members of the Scottish Rite to supplement the ritualistic instruction. This anthology is similar, in some respects, to Pike's Lectures on Masonic Symbolism, but was considered REQUIRED READING by Pike himself. No Mason can truly understand the Scottish Rite degrees without reading this essential work. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
