A self-taught film historian, he has spent years studying the filmmakers, genres, and industry battles that shaped modern Hollywood. His previous works, John McTiernan: The Rise and Fall of an Action Movie Icon and Tony Scott: A Filmmaker on Fire, reflect his fascination with bold directors and the high-wire era of studio filmmaking.
When he's not writing about cinema, Taylor teaches English in Texas and lives there with his wife and two children - still chasing the thrill of a great movie in a darkened theater.
