In 1972 a young family, Phillip, Susan, and their 3 year-old-son, Ethan sold all they owned and bought a 20 year old converted school bus with a 15 year old engine. Some called them hippies, even more called them crazy. Their plan was to roam, as their whim took them (at a time before seat belts and car seats.) To get ready for their trip they added skylights, a darkroom, and painted flowers on the sides of the bus.
