Jax and Kira navigate eleven light-years of blind sublight travel, rescue the whistleblower scientist Dr. Aris Thorne from a disappearing outpost, and piece together a fragile network of outer rim voices - haulers, researchers, a resigned Councilor - broadcasting the truth on frequencies nobody is supposed to be watching anymore.

But the machine, it turns out, is running faster than its designers planned. The cascade is accelerating. And if the models are right, the singularity's trajectory is about to shift - directly toward New Eden itself. The architects of extinction may have built their own tomb.
