Karen Allen has been in the educational field for the past 13 years in which nine of those years were at the college level. The remaining four years have been teaching at the secondary level in the area of Language Arts. She received here Masters of Arts in Teaching from Fayetteville State University in the area of Middle Grades Language Arts. She lives in North Carolina with her children and grandchildren. She enjoys reading, writing, singing and dancing. In her teaching Common Core standards, she has learned that a vital part of the students' education has been pushed aside. That part included being able to write a sentence, knowing how to punctuate that sentence and how to write several sentences to make a paragraph. In writing this book, she feels the student will have a reference tool that will enable them to look up questions they may have in the area of writing.
