LangGraph for Python Developers gives you a practical, step by step introduction to building these kinds of intelligent workflows with LangGraph.
Instead of teaching LangGraph through disconnected examples, this book develops one complete project called SupportFlow AI, a customer support agent that becomes more capable as you progress. You will begin with the foundations of graphs, state, nodes, and edges, then gradually introduce conditional routing, language models, tool calling, persistence, memory, human oversight, streaming, debugging, and automated testing.
You will learn how to design graph state that remains manageable as an application grows, create focused nodes and execution paths, connect Python tools to language models, build controlled agent tool loops, preserve conversation state with checkpoints and threads, manage short term and longer lived memory, and pause sensitive operations until a human approves them.
The book also goes beyond simply making an agent work. You will learn how to inspect execution, stream agent progress, trace workflows with LangSmith, test individual nodes, test complete graphs, handle common LangGraph failures, organize configuration safely, and structure a growing agent application for maintainability.
By the final chapter, you will bring everything together into the complete SupportFlow application, combining model reasoning, tools, routing, persistence, memory, human approval, error handling, configuration, and resumable execution.
This book is designed for Python developers who want to move beyond basic chatbot applications and understand how stateful AI agents are actually engineered.
No previous LangGraph experience is required. If you are comfortable with Python functions, dictionaries, type hints, packages, and basic API concepts, you have enough background to begin.
