Land Magnetic Observations, 1914-1920 is a scientific book written by Louis Agricola Bauer in 1921. The book is a detailed account of the magnetic observations made on land during the period of 1914 to 1920. Bauer, who was a renowned American geophysicist and a pioneer in the field of geomagnetism, provides a comprehensive analysis of the magnetic data collected during this time, which was a period of significant scientific progress in the field. The book is organized into several chapters, each focusing on a particular aspect of the magnetic observations. Bauer begins by discussing the instruments and methods used in the observations, including the declination, inclination, and intensity of the Earth's magnetic field. He then goes on to describe the various locations where the observations were made, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The book also includes detailed maps and charts that illustrate the magnetic variations observed in different parts of the world. Bauer analyzes these variations and explores their causes, including the effects of solar radiation, the Earth's rotation, and the presence of magnetic minerals in the Earth's crust.Overall, Land Magnetic Observations, 1914-1920 is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of geomagnetism and the scientific advances made in this field during the early 20th century. The book provides a fascinating insight into the methods and techniques used by early scientists to study the Earth's magnetic field, and it remains an important reference for researchers and students of geophysics today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
