Labyrinth of Our Illusions is a modern Gothic fairytale that follows the exploits of Death and one of Death's half-human representatives as they navigate a landscape of human illusions and hidden truths. Among the characters they meet along the way are a women near suicide because she failed to rapture at the moment foretold by the end-times evangelist she followed, her brother who sees angels and has become obsessed with the possibility of calculating their flight patters, and a man who, for having broken a rule set by a powerful ancient relic, is turning into a tree from the inside out, all of which offer the newly recruited representative a delightfully alternative perspective of both life and death. Labyrinth of Our Illusions is the second volume on the trilogy, A Garden of Improbably Dreams, a surrealist fantasy that envisions the world as a potential paradise whose secret lies buried deep within the human experience. The first volume of the set is Irresistible Souls.
