Between the noon whistle on Saturday and Monday afternoon in Ferndale, they must traverse the sand, pavement, water, and dirt carrying all they will need for the duration of the over 50 mile race. This Triathlon of the Art World takes place in Humboldt County, bringing together hundreds of racers, artists, support crews, volunteers, bike enthusiasts, spectators and the media. It is the biggest single event in Humboldt County and brings in an estimated 140,000 people annually.
