We meet Katie, code name Caitlin, as she is offered her first assignment, to make sure of the legitimacy of a lowly Egyptian diplomat who is visiting London, an easy first mission for a rookie. Follow her exploits in London, Cairo, Luxor, Tombos and Khartoum as she finds out more and more about Achmed Farouk, and his attempts to make her his wife number three.
It is in Katie's mind, throughout the novel, that her best friend, Bethany, has often told her that Katie doesn't fall in love too easily, she mistakes hot sex for love. So, is she falling in love with Achmed? He tells her he loves her and gets no reply, so maybe it is what he offers her that draws her to follow him on this journey.
