For everyone who had a relationship dim their light...I hope you shine brighter than a supernova and burn all the tethers keeping you from freedom.
I learned at a young age that there are no superhero's in life. The caped crusader flying through the night sky to save the crying damsels and doe-eyed children are mere fantasy. Super powers were metaphors for the sins we carry through life. Greed, lust, narcissistic pride. Those were the prevailing superpowers running and ruining lives. It only takes a glimmer of pure control for hero to turn villainous. And, truthfully, we're all a villain in someone else's book. It just depends on how they write the story.
Each person is just walking skin sacks of hatred, selfishness, and manipulation. Every decision carefully calculated to get ahead and cut down the lesser human. People will do the unthinkable to get what they want, to live the life they desire, no matter how cruel or unbelievable.
The unbelievable was my living nightmare. That nightmare turned into my unholy redemption.
If you ask the world, who am I, they will whisper, monster. I will not apologize for my actions.
My name is Nova. This is my villain origin story.
** Karmic Salvation was previously published as Revenge Served Sunny Side Up. It's a 11k word novelette that depicts themes of domestic abuse, female rage, and violent revenge. Readers are encouraged to read the CW in the forward prior to reading. **
