The Koran, translated by J.M. Rodwell and published in 1909, is an English translation of the Islamic holy book, the Quran. The Quran is considered by Muslims to be the word of God as revealed to the prophet Muhammad over a period of 23 years. The translation by Rodwell includes the original Arabic text alongside the English translation, making it accessible to both English-speaking Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The book is divided into chapters, or surahs, and each surah is further divided into verses, or ayahs. The Koran covers a wide range of topics, including the oneness of God, the importance of prayer and charity, the stories of the prophets, and the concept of the afterlife. The translation by Rodwell is recognized for its accuracy and clarity, and has been widely used by scholars and students of Islam. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
