In his epistle to the Romans, the apostle Paul stated, 'ÄúFor whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope'Äù (Romans 15:4). When he wrote these words, he spoke of the Torah and other writings that would come to be known as the Old Testament.
