THE KILCREGGAN INCIDENT 1944 Ben Neville CENTRAL CHARACTER is called up to attend a top secret meeting with DI Charles Bray at the war office in London. Like many others, Neville is a casualty of war having lost his younger brother John at sea while serving on the Bullard Naval sub, all hands lost. Also at the meeting is Scientist Angus Brown and Lieutenant Gerald Spence. Brown produces two newspaper articles detailing strange goings on at the Faslane Naval base. One from 1939 and the other more recent. Angus also has vital information about his encounter with the mysterious Doctor Gerdol and his mind altering machine. Bray takes Ben back to Paris April 1939 at a small cafe on the Rue De Lille recalling his encounter with the devious Fritz Keppal, a notorious underground criminal and German spy. November 1939 an unexplained ferry explosion at Gareloch killing over a hundred soldiers and civilians leads to the investigation. Alias detective Sergeant Charles Bray, working for MI5, leads the investigation and uncovers a sinister plot by the Nazis to infiltrate Brittish Territories at a naval base 400 miles north of London. American frogman Ben Neville is called up to be part of the team to infiltrate the German plot. Vic Anderson, Brays righthand man is aboard the ill-fated ferry and presumed dead.Leading the German plot is Major Kepal. Four days after the meeting with Bray, Ben arrives at Kilcreggan where he meets with special agent Jean Anderson. On the ferry crossing Ben meets a young attractive wren called Elizabeth McCormick. Ben recieves orders to investigate the murky waters of the Gareloch after reports of submarine activity. He dives at midnight under the cover of darkness. He discovers an underground complex along with the lost crew. From his high vantage point house overlooking the base, Angus Brown is the lookout man who reports back to Bray with sightings of submarines including the lost Bullard and Triffador subs thought to be at the bottom of the atlantic. Operation watery grave is well planned and Ben goes into action. Keppal and his comrades along with the mysterious Doctor Gerdol are working hard for the German fatherland to kickstart a German invasion of Brittain .Meanwhile Liz and Bens relationship deepens and they fall in love. With the help of Liz, Ben successfully blows up the mind altering machine by crawling through the air vent shaft. Bray and his Brittish/American operations team must plan a counter attack and thwart the Germans at their own game and use every means at their disposal to stop them.Parts one and two.
