Superpowers can save the world. They can also tear you apart.
Josh Jacobs, Jr. is finally starting to feel like a real hero.
As Kid Comet, he and his friends-Xandra and Mikey-have become the Comet Squad, protecting Rockvale from threats no one else can see. But being a team is harder than winning a fight, and the cracks from their last mission are only getting worse.
Then everything starts to fall apart.
Students at Ronald Reagan Middle School begin developing superpowers, but they are unstable and dangerous. And all signs point back to one person: Mastermind-the enemy from Chicago they never truly defeated.
Now, the Comet Squad faces its biggest challenge yet. Stop a growing army of unpredictable super-powered kids... while holding their own friendship together before it collapses completely.
Because this time, losing doesn't just mean failure.
It means becoming the enemy.
Perfect for readers ages 8 to 12 who love anime-inspired battles, superhero rivalries, and emotionally driven team stories. Book 3 delivers explosive action, high-stakes conflict, and the toughest question yet: what does it really mean to be a friend?
For fans of graphic novels, manga, and superhero sagas ready for deeper character arcs and bigger consequences, Kid Comet and the Eighth Grade Enemy pushes the series to its breaking point.
