Karn: The Luminous Warrior is a work based on Rashmirathi, which is a highly celebrated Hindi poem written by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, one of the most prominent poets of modern Hindi literature. He was also popularly referred to as 'Rashtra Kavi' i.e., National Poet. The poem Rashmirathi was first published in 1952 and is considered one of the finest examples of Hindi literature. The poem is a dramatic monologue delivered by Karn as well as a few other central characters of the Indian Itihasa epic Mahabharat.

As I grew up, Rashmi Rathi became one of the greatest sources of inspiration for me over time.
