This book deals with the critical need to continue embryonic stem-cell research. It attempts to debunk the sacred cow of pro-life. The plot is fairly simple: a group of people who would benefit from embryonic stem-cell research inflict bodily harm to two high-ranking members of the pro-life movement so they must experience what life is like from their perspectives. The group first attacks the men by trying to damage their kidneys. When that doesn't work, they take more drastic action. Along the way, readers are introduced to some interesting characters. Dick is a Vietnam veteran, an excellent marksman, and a male chauvinist pig. Gabriella's love of food makes her creations into an art form. Sue and Tom form a romantic relationship through their mutual love of swimming. Other members of the pro-embryonic stem cell research movement include Monty, one of the richest men in the world whose wife died of Alzheimer's; Bill, a security expert whose wife died of MS; and Bob, a doctor whose best friend died of ALS.
