Jane Austen is one of the greatest of all English authors. Her published works are revered and loved by the public. Even non-readers will have seen film and television adaptations of her works. And, of course, she has been hugely studied. Hundreds of books have been written about her and her life. Most of these are highly academic and relate her works to her life and experiences. Sadly, although there are a number of biographies she never wrote her own autobiography. Jane Austen In Person tells her story from her point of view. Written by a Blue Badge Guide whose area covers much of Jane Austen's England, Alix Lewis, it examines her life, her relationships and the places she lived in and visited. It is written to be accessible by all who have an interest in her and her influences. It also serves as a useful guide book to the places she was connected with and provides resources for those who might wish to follow in her footsteps.
