Juraj IV Zrinski, was a Croatian count, a member of the Zrinski noble family. He was the son of Croatian Ban (viceroy) Nikola ubi Zrinski (*1508 - 1566.), the hero of Szigetvar, and his wife Katarina Zrinski n e Frankopan (married 1543, died 1561.), a Croatian countess. From his father he inherited a large number of estates, among which was the Me imurje County, the northernmost part of Croatia, with the large and strongly fortified akovec castle. Like his father, he was the main royal treasurer in the Kingdom of Croatia and Hungary.
