JUNETEENTH Our Freedom, Our Future: Celebration Freedom, Honor History, Build Our Future

Juneteenth: Our Freedom Story invites young readers on an inspiring journey through one of the most important stories in American history. Written especially for children ages 8-12, this book explains how the dream of freedom grew from hope and faith into the historic celebration known as Juneteenth. Through easy-to-understand storytelling, readers will discover why June 19, 1865, became a day of great joy for thousands of newly freed African Americans and why it continues to hold deep meaning for many families today.

Across twelve engaging chapters, children will learn about the founding of the United States, the hardships endured by enslaved African Americans, the courage of those who never gave up hope, the Emancipation Proclamation, General Order No. 3, and the first Juneteenth celebrations. Along the way, they will meet ordinary people who demonstrated extraordinary faith, perseverance, resilience, and love for their families while trusting God through difficult times.

Each chapter includes meaningful life lessons, inspiring Bible verses, positive affirmations, and exciting S.T.E.A.M. connections that encourage children to become lifelong learners, compassionate leaders, creative thinkers, and responsible citizens. Young readers will discover how history connects to science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics while exploring careers that can help build stronger communities.

Rather than simply remembering the past, this book encourages children to honor the sacrifices of those who came before them by pursuing education, serving others, respecting every person's God-given dignity, and using their talents to make a positive difference in the world. It reminds readers that freedom is both a precious gift and a responsibility that should be treasured by every generation.

Filled with hope, faith, historical understanding, and encouragement, Juneteenth: Our Freedom Story inspires children to appreciate the journey toward freedom, celebrate the resilience of African American communities, and confidently step into the future knowing they can help write the next chapter of history through wisdom, kindness, courage, and God's unfailing love.
