Journey to the Ice Wall is a satirical, fast-paced, character-driven adventure that follows a dysfunctional group of grifters, true believers, and accidental fugitives as they attempt to prove the Earth is flat-and film the whole thing for profit.
Margaret Hagus is sixty, broke, overweight, and out of patience with her conspiracy-obsessed husband, Wolfgang, a self-declared sovereign citizen whose legal arguments are based on YouTube tutorials and maritime law. When Wolfgang's flat-earth crusade lands him in court again, Margaret believes it's just another embarrassing episode in a lifetime of them-until a real opportunity for escape appears in the form of a YouTube preacher who agrees to fund Wolfgang's expedition to the Ice Wall.
Armed with lottery leftovers, bad cameras, worse judgment, and a van held together with prayer and duct tape, the group begins filming daily scientific dispatches to an online audience hungry for conspiracies. Margaret and her nephew Chuck-more con-artists than believers-see a chance to turn Wolfgang's delusions into cash. But the deeper they go, the harder it becomes to tell the difference between satire and sincerity, performance and belief, scammer and victim.
What begins as a low-budget internet stunt escalates into a cross-country odyssey featuring a grifting televangelist, a Hawaiian Big Kahuna, sovereign citizen militias, fake academic credentials, a survivalist brother at war with the DMV, NASA submarines, a glider launch off a volcano, and a doomed voyage aboard a boat named Minnow in search of Gilligan's Island-because of course it was real, and of course it holds the key to the Ice Wall.
Margaret just wants a way out. Wolfgang wants proof of the biggest cover-up in human history. Chuck just wants subscribers. And the internet wants blood.
Caught between guilt and survival, Margaret must decide whether she is documenting madness, enabling it-or slowly becoming part of it. Is she the sane one trapped among lunatics, or just another castaway who chose a delusion because the truth was too small, too sad, and too late?
Journey to the Ice Wall is a darkly funny look at the modern American collapse of truth, the profitable power of misinformation, and the strange places desperation will take ordinary people who can't outrun their mistakes-or each other.
