This book, written by Leroy Nixon, explores the teachings of John Calvin on human reason and their implications for the theory of Reformed Protestant Christian education. The author delves into Calvin's views on the role of reason in the Christian faith and argues that Calvin believed that reason was a gift from God that should be used to understand and interpret the Bible. Nixon also examines how Calvin's teachings on human reason influenced his ideas about education, particularly in terms of the importance of teaching children to think critically and develop their reasoning skills. The author explores the implications of Calvin's teachings for contemporary Christian education, arguing that they provide a valuable framework for developing a robust and intellectually rigorous approach to teaching the faith.Overall, this book provides a detailed and insightful analysis of the intersection between Calvin's teachings on human reason and Christian education, making it a valuable resource for scholars, educators, and anyone interested in the history and philosophy of Reformed Protestant Christianity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
