John Allister Currie (February 25, 1868 - June 28, 1931) was an Ontario author, journalist and political figure. He represented Simcoe North in the Canadian House of Commons from 1908 to 1921 as a Conservative and then Unionist member and then represented Toronto Southeast and then St. Patrick in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1922 to 1929 as a Conservative. He was born in Nottawa, Ontario. Currie ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the House of Commons in 1904. He was defeated in his bid for reelection in 1921 and was elected to the provincial assembly in a by-election in 1922. He ran for Mayor of Toronto in the 1924 municipal election placing a poor third. He was a member of the 48th Highlanders of Canada which served in South Africa during the Second Boer War and served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I, being promoted to the rank of colonel in 1915.
