Izzy is full of energy, excitement, and good intentions but listening? That's hard when the world is full of sparkles, chirps, and zoomies!
Izzy, a bouncy pup with a heart of gold, can't wait to master the Super-Hoop at Waggin Tails Elementary. But every time her teacher gives instructions, something shinier, louder, or faster grabs her attention a glittering collar, a singing bluebird, or her own racing paws.
When her failed attempts lead to crashes, tears, and frustration, Izzy finally admits the truth: I don't know what to do!
With patience and kindness, her teacher, Mr. Barkwell, helps Izzy discover that asking for help isn't a weakness, it's a superpower. Together, they practice The Power of the Pause, and Izzy learns that real listening takes courage, not speed.
Perfect for children ages 3-8, this heartwarming story helps little readers understand:
It's okay to feel distracted or overwhelmed
Asking for help is brave, not embarrassing
Small tools like pausing and breathing can make a big difference
Filled with playful illustrations and lovable animal characters, Izzy Learns to Listen is the sixth book in the Tales From the Dog House series, created by a real-life mother-daughter team. Ideal for bedtime, classroom read-alouds, or any child who's ever felt their brain zooming too fast.
Includes a special note from Izzy's Desk with a simple Pause Button strategy families can practice together!
