As a black man I've felt invisible at times. I've felt like my feelings mattered as little as my opinion, and for that reason I was silent. I was still thinking though, and thought is the cause of all things whether they be good or bad. INVISIBLE TO THEY was born from those thoughts and feelings. Spoken word poetry is the vehicle for my truth, and this twenty-poem selection will serve as an introduction to the man I struggled to find within. Hopefully, I can inspire someone else to take the journey of self-reflection because it's a journey full of beauty. No knowledge is more powerful than knowledge of self, and that is what THEY worked so hard to keep hidden from us.
