Elara had a plan. The plan was: couch, deadline, houseplant. The plan did not survive contact with the sky.
Because the sky, it turns out, has a hole in it. And she fell through it. Screaming. With three men she barely knows, her neighbor, and one cat she definitely adopted.
Except the cat is a person now.
And she said a LOT of things to that cat.
Now she's in a forest with four moons, wearing drugstore flip-flops, being told she's somewhere safe by men who won't tell her where. There's a light around her nobody will explain. She can see in the dark, which is new. And apparently she's been narrating her entire inner monologue out loud to men who can hear every word.
She'd like her couch back. She'd like Gerald back. She would not like to find out what a female dragon is, thank you.
One of them can walk through shadows - and has been in her apartment.
One of them keeps her from falling apart and won't say why it works.
One of them is running from something that has nothing to do with her.
And all of them are watching her like she's a fairytale that shouldn't exist...
But she does. In flip-flops.
Into Ember is the second book in The Forgotten Ones - a slow-burn why-choose romantasy with more banter, more heat, more moons, and one wildly unprepared woman who is still, absolutely, not doing this today.
