This poetry book has been nearly a decade in the making, and it holds my innermost, darkest thoughts during some of the darkest times in my life. After maturing, I realized the melancholy and lugubrious tones are exaggerated, and that I was overdramatic in my times of 'woe'. However, compiling and publishing these poems is a form of release. It is a way for me to evolve. I grew up believing my extreme and intense emotions were sins, or rather signs of weakness. In the next phase of my life, I believed my inability to love-or rather the way I loved- was one of my greatest catastrophes. Now, at 17, I know that all of this cannot be further from the truth. I hope you enjoy my ramblings, and remember that they are simply the weighted words of a young girl.
