Set in 1966 when the Vietnam War covered the pages of newspapers and was the lead story on television newscasts, this is a simple story of a young girl living her life in a small town in Kentucky yearning to find the truth about her birth parents and dealing with the everyday struggles of a young girl coming of age during turbulent times. The war was a continent away so they continued to live their ordinary lives. Not until they would face friends going off to war after graduation would it become a reality. It's a simple story of romance and sibling rivalry and the need to find the truth of who she is to be free of the shadow that has enveloped her life.
