The story of Stan Novak, born during the great depression in a blue collar neighborhood of New York City. His childhood, education and career are described. The story focus is on a change made half way through a career. Not a job change where the destination is known and familiar but a career change where the destination is initially unknown and completely alien when determined. The events leading to that decision unfold, as well as the consequences, challenges, and rewards that follow.
