Il libro è diviso in tre parti.
Guardare serve a fermarsi prima di intervenire. Ascoltare, togliere etichette, rispettare i tempi.
Tradurre serve a rendere il mondo accessibile. Semplificare il linguaggio, usare il corpo, costruire routine.
Accompagnare serve a restare, anche quando è difficile. Gestire le crisi, spiegare agli altri senza pietismo, prendersi cura della propria voce.
Ogni capitolo contiene storie brevi, tre attenzioni che tornano nella pratica e una scheda operativa da provare il giorno stesso. Non è necessario leggerli in ordine. È necessario provarli.
Le voci sottili ci sono già , nelle aule, nei corridoi, nelle case. Questo libro non vuole insegnare ad alzare la voce per coprirle. Vuole aiutare chi educa ad abbassare la propria, quel tanto che basta per sentirle.
