Vecchio Testamento Secondo La Volgata presents the Old Testament in Italian, translated with annotations by Monsignor A. Martini. This extensive work, originally published in 22 volumes (here bound in 19), offers a crucial resource for Italian-speaking scholars and readers interested in the Catholic interpretation of the Old Testament. Martini's translation sought to provide an accessible and faithful rendering of the Vulgate, the standard Latin version of the Bible, into Italian.
This edition preserves Martini's meticulous annotations, providing valuable insights into the textual and theological nuances of the Old Testament. A significant contribution to Italian religious literature, this translation reflects the theological perspectives prevalent during its time and continues to be a valuable historical and religious document.
