Prolegomeni Del Nuovo Comento Storico-Morale-Estetico Della Divina Commedia, by Domenico Bongiovanni, offers a 19th-century perspective on Dante Alighieri's masterpiece, the Divine Comedy. This work serves as a prolegomenon, or introduction, to a new historical, moral, and aesthetic commentary on Dante's epic poem.
Bongiovanni's analysis provides valuable insights into the poem's historical context, exploring the moral and ethical dimensions embedded within Dante's narrative, and examining the aesthetic qualities that have made the Divine Comedy an enduring work of literature. This book is essential for scholars and enthusiasts interested in the rich history of Dante scholarship and the evolving interpretations of one of the world's great literary achievements.
