Musica, Ballo E Drammatica Alla Corte Medicea Dal 1600 Al 1637 offers a fascinating glimpse into the vibrant cultural life of the Medici court in Florence during the early 17th century. Based on meticulous research and a previously unpublished diary, Angelo Solerti reconstructs the musical, dance, and dramatic performances that captivated the Medici family and their entourage.
This volume sheds light on the evolution of early opera, the development of courtly ballet, and the flourishing of dramatic arts in Florence. The book features a wealth of information about the composers, choreographers, and performers who contributed to the Medici court's artistic splendor. An appendix of unpublished and rare texts further enhances the value of this essential resource for scholars and enthusiasts of Italian history, music, and theater.
