La Gerusalemme Liberata (Jerusalem Delivered) is an epic poem by Torquato Tasso, first published in 1581. It tells a largely fictionalized version of the First Crusade in which Christian knights, led by Godfrey of Bouillon, battle Muslims to take Jerusalem.

Tasso began work on the poem in his youth and completed it in the mid-1570s. Initially, the work faced criticism and revisions. Eventually, it was published and became one of the most widely read and influential works of Italian literature. Celebrated for its rich language, complex characters, and vivid battle scenes, La Gerusalemme Liberata captures the spirit of the Renaissance while exploring themes of love, duty, and faith. This edition offers readers a chance to experience Tasso's masterpiece in its original Italian.
