Epitome Historica Regii, Liberi, Exempti, In Regno Bohemiae Antiquissimi, Celleberrimi... Monasterii Brevnoviensis, Vulgo S. Margarethae... by Magnoald Ziegelbauer, presents a detailed historical overview of the Břevnov Monastery, one of the oldest and most distinguished monastic institutions in the Kingdom of Bohemia. Written in Italian, this historical epitome delves into the monastery's royal status, its liberties, and its significant role within the Bohemian realm. This work offers insights into the religious, cultural, and political landscape of Bohemia through the lens of its monastic heritage.
Ziegelbauer's meticulous account provides valuable information on the monastery's historical development, its relationship with the Bohemian monarchy, and its spiritual contributions. The book is an important resource for historians, religious scholars, and anyone interested in the history of monasticism and the cultural heritage of Central Europe. The work's enduring value lies in its comprehensive documentation of a key institution in Bohemian history.
