Excerpt: There are 55 known isotopes and nuclear isomers of tellurium (Te) with atomic masses that range from 105 to 142. Naturally found tellurium consists of eight isotopes (listed in the table to the right); two of them are observed to be radioactive (Te and Te undergo double beta decay). Te has the longest known half-life, 2.2x10 years (approx. 2.2 sextillion years), among all radioactive isotopes. It was claimed that electron capture of Te was observed, but the recent measurements of the same team have disproved this . Tellurium is the lightest element known to undergo alpha decay, with isotopes Te to Te being able to undergo this mode of decay. Tellurium's standard atomic mass is: 127.60(3) u Values are not purely derived from experimental data, but at least partly from systematic trends.
