Iris: A Drama In Five Acts is a play written by Arthur W. Pinero. The story revolves around Iris, a young woman who is forced to marry a wealthy man named Sir William Chumley for financial security. Iris is in love with a poor artist named Harry Greaves, but her father disapproves of their relationship. As the play progresses, Iris struggles to balance her duty to her husband and her love for Harry. Meanwhile, Sir William's daughter, Lady Chumley, is in love with Harry as well, adding to the drama. The play explores themes of love, duty, and societal expectations.
