In this interview Major Eric Fourroux of the Army Nurse Corps discusses his experienced during his deployment to OIF in 2007 in support of the 610 BSB out of Fort Riley, Kansas. Major Fourroux was the only RN located on FOB Falcon during his tour there and he was a part of the medical hold platoon of Charlie Med. Major Fourroux eloquently and emotionally describes a very memorable experience when he was part of the team that saved LTC Greg Gadson's (battalion commander 2-32 FA) life after an IED exploded under his vehicle. Major Fourroux also expresses his gratefulness for the quality of soldiers he had working for him and talks about his medics capabilities and desire to learn as much as they could. He closes his interview by explaining that while it's hard to be deployed to a combat environment it's even harder to be the spouse left behind to handle everything in the rear.
