The presence of the informal sector in towns and cities of the developing world challenges the current urban planning approaches as conflicts of landuse between 'planned for' zones and informal zones continue to soar. With informality as a challenge to urban planning, this book analyses the informal sector with informal trade at Sakubva Musika in Mutare: Zimbabwe as a point in case. It therefore gives a balanced assessment of the problem at hand, shedding more light on regulatory, policy, management and spatial planning issues that should inform urban planning with regard to urban informality.
