Fogetting is the sleep of freedom, she says, of the baby-scoop era, when girls as young as her own mother were forced, by shame and threat, to vanish their newborn children, supposedly in-perpetuity. She knows it is still happening. Children remain a form of currency to those who have the money to acquire one. This is not over and slavery is a hall of many mirrors.
