Melalui perpaduan kisah-kisah Alkitab dan pengalaman hidup pribadi, pembaca diajak melihat bagaimana Tuhan bekerja dalam berbagai bentuk ujung tanduk ketika Abraham harus berjalan menuju Gunung Moria, ketika bangsa Israel terjepit antara Laut Merah dan tentara Mesir, ketika tiga pemuda dilemparkan ke dalam perapian, ketika sebuah keluarga menghadapi tekanan keuangan, ketika seorang ayah bergumul bagi masa depan anak-anaknya, ketika keputusan yang salah membawa akibat, ketika kesehatan terguncang, dan ketika jalan yang diharapkan seolah tertutup. Buku ini tidak menampilkan kehidupan iman sebagai perjalanan tanpa masalah, melainkan sebagai perjalanan untuk terus kembali kepada Tuhan, percaya, bertindak, dan bangkit kembali.
Di dalamnya juga terdapat kesaksian-kesaksian pribadi tentang pintu yang tertutup di Prancis, kecelakaan yang mengancam keselamatan keluarga, pergumulan membesarkan lima anak, tekanan ekonomi, pendidikan, pekerjaan, penyakit, kesembuhan, pelayanan, serta berbagai keputusan hidup yang tidak selalu berjalan sempurna. Semua pengalaman itu diarahkan kepada satu kesaksian: kegagalan tidak harus menjadi akhir, dan pertolongan Tuhan tidak selalu datang melalui cara yang kita bayangkan.
Namun Lepas dari Ujung Tanduk bukanlah ajakan untuk hanya menunggu mujizat. Buku ini menekankan bahwa iman berjalan bersama tanggung jawab. Ada waktunya berdoa, tetapi ada pula waktunya bekerja, memperbaiki kesalahan, meminta pertolongan, menggunakan kemampuan yang Tuhan berikan, dan mengambil langkah berikutnya dengan berani. Penulis menggambarkan perjalanan iman sebagai melakukan bagian yang dapat kita kerjakan sambil mempercayakan bagian yang berada di luar kendali kita kepada Tuhan.
Lebih dari sekadar kesaksian pribadi, buku ini ditulis sebagai warisan iman bagi generasi berikutnya. Teladan bukanlah kehidupan seseorang yang tidak pernah salah, melainkan kehidupan seseorang yang ketika jatuh memilih untuk kembali kepada Tuhan, belajar, bangkit, dan melangkah dengan lebih rendah hati serta lebih berhikmat.
Pada akhirnya, pesan buku ini sederhana tetapi kuat: selama Tuhan masih memberikan napas, kisah kita belum berakhir. Masih ada kesempatan untuk berdoa, bekerja, belajar, memperbaiki, mengampuni, bangkit, dan melangkah kembali. Bahkan ketika kita belum melihat seluruh jalan di depan, kita dapat terus berjalan bersama Tuhan.
Karena berada di ujung tanduk bukan berarti berada di akhir jalan. Tuhan masih sanggup menyediakan, membuka pintu, memulihkan, melepaskan, dan memakai kehidupan yang telah ditolong-Nya untuk menjadi berkat bagi orang lain.
