A simple trip to Beersheba to settle accounts and inventory a warehouse, reminded him of routines he once loved, but which now seemed dreary. Everything changed when he returned home to grief-stricken women and the news he had dreaded: Yeshua had been crucified. He had warned them this day was coming, but foreknowledge did not ease the pain as his sister Martha recounted the horrors of the crucifixion,

Then came the moment when Lazarus realized his world had far more secrets than death, the afterlife, and resurrection had revealed.

Yeshua's wife, his sister Miriam, no longer arrived by roads or through gates. She appeared where walls should have barred her, vanished mid-embrace, and spoke calmly of dangers she no longer feared. Romans whispered she was a witch. The Sanhedrin feared her. The apostles called her the Angel of the Covenant. Lazarus had known her all his life and no longer knew which truth unsettled him most.

When Lazarus witnessed gateways of living light open through solid stone, cities taller than forests rise beneath twin suns, and travelers return from journeys that for them took days, though only an hour had passed, he could no longer pretend he was merely an observer. He had tasted death. He had crossed beyond time. Now he stood at the threshold of something far greater, where belief shaped reality and hesitation could leave him stranded between worlds.

Miriam revealed that the laws governing time, distance, power, even life and death, were illusions. There were worlds beyond Earth, realms between moments, and paths crossed in a breath, or stretched into days, while only minutes passed behind them. Some travelers were called Adepts, others Guardians; all were Time Walkers. Lazarus, whether prepared or not, was being drawn into their ranks.
