In Memoriam, An Address ... On The Life ... Of George Williams is a biographical tribute delivered by William Ralph Churton. This oration commemorates the life and work of George Williams, the founder of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). Churton's address offers insights into Williams's character, his profound faith, and his tireless efforts in establishing and nurturing the YMCA as a global force for Christian values and community service.
The book provides a historical snapshot of the Victorian era, highlighting the social and religious context in which Williams operated. It underscores the importance of his contributions to the development of youth organizations and his impact on promoting Christian ideals during a period of rapid social change. Readers interested in religious history, biography, and the origins of the YMCA will find this address to be a valuable and inspiring account of a life dedicated to faith and service.
