book iii of the in the in-between trilogy
This is where it breaks
in the quiet after the collapse,
in the moment the light thins
and the truth finally shows its shape.
in black is a collection of blank verse
unforgiving, unfiltered, and unafraid.
the echoes we avoided,
and the reflections we tried not to recognize.
These are the final fragments,
written at the edge of endings
where memory sharpens,
where tenderness turns brittle,
and where the last pieces of a story
are held up to the dark to see
what was real and what was imagined.
Not softened.
Not disguised.
Not meant to reassure.
But to confront
the remnants, the ruptures,
the parts of ourselves left behind
when the façade no longer holds.
Where in white reached toward awakening,
and in grey settled into the quiet middle,
in black steps beyond the threshold
into the shadowed aftermath
where acceptance becomes a kind of clarity,
and endings reveal what beginnings hid.
These verses sit with the things
we buried on purpose
and the truths we uncovered by accident.
They do not offer resolve
only recognition
in the darkness between departure and becoming.
This is not closure.
It is revelation.
The final turning,
the last breath before release.
Welcome to the black.
