The Cult of Confidence: The Collapse of the Western Self and the Return of Islam is a direct challenge to the modern Western worldview and the spiritual fraud it exports to the world.
The modern West preaches freedom, empowerment, confidence, and self-realization, yet produces anxiety, moral confusion, spiritual emptiness, and psychological collapse. This is not a contradiction - it is the inevitable outcome of a civilization that removed Allah from the center of life and replaced Him with the self. What is celebrated today as self-love is, in reality, ego worship. What is marketed as healing is often nothing more than indulgence dressed as therapy.
Islam exposes this lie at its root.
This book is written for Muslims living under Western domination - cultural, psychological, and ideological - who feel the pressure to reinterpret their faith through alien categories. It is also written for non-Muslims who sense that the modern project has failed, even if they cannot yet name why.
Islam does not deny pain, anxiety, grief, or struggle. The Qur'an speaks openly about them, and the Prophets endured them all. What Islam rejects is the idea that the human soul can be understood, healed, or governed without its Creator - or that disbelieving systems, built upon desire and denial of Allah, can offer true remedies for the human condition.
This book dismantles the modern religion of the self: self-confidence, self-affirmation, self-expression, and self-sovereignty. It confronts therapy without God, toxic positivity, feminism as an ideological weapon against womanhood, the collapse of masculine responsibility, the erosion of family under state control, and knowledge divorced from witnessing Allah. It shows how Western psychology treats symptoms while remaining blind to the soul.
Drawing from the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the classical Islamic understanding of the nafs, this work does not offer comfort, compromise, or motivational language. It offers truth. It restores submission (ʿubūdiyyah) as the only path to freedom, patience (ṣabr) as strength, modesty (ḥayāʾ) as dignity, and sakīnah as peace granted by Allah - not manufactured by affirmation.
Written with full awareness that we are living in the end of times, this book is a call to Muslims to return to Islam without apology, dilution, or psychological colonization. It is a reminder that the West's collapse is not accidental, and that Islam is not in need of reform - the self is.
