I Was A Nazi Flier is a memoir written by Gottfried Leske, a former pilot for the German Luftwaffe during World War II. The book provides a first-hand account of Leske's experiences as a young man who was swept up in the fervor of Nazi ideology and trained to fly fighter planes in the service of Adolf Hitler's regime.Leske's story is a complex one, as he grapples with the moral implications of his actions as a soldier in a war that he ultimately comes to see as unjust. He recounts the harrowing experiences of air combat, including the intense physical and emotional toll it takes on the pilots who engage in it.Throughout the book, Leske reflects on the political and social context of the war, offering insights into the mindset of the German people at the time and the propaganda that was used to justify their actions. He also reveals the personal struggles he faced as a young man trying to reconcile his own beliefs with the reality of the war he was fighting.I Was A Nazi Flier is a powerful and thought-provoking memoir that offers a unique perspective on one of the most tumultuous periods in human history. It is a must-read for anyone interested in World War II or the human experience of war. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
